Carolyn Ihde, the Small Ruminant Outreach Specialist for the University of Wisconsin Division of Extension and Iowa State University Extension and Outreach, invites meat goat producers in Wisconsin and Iowa to join the Meat Goat Cohort 25.
About the Meat Goat Cohort 25
This program offers a unique opportunity to meet in person and via Zoom to increase knowledge, analyze production systems, collaborate and network, and create and implement strategies to improve efficiency and productivity. This journey will not only inspire and excite meat goat producers, it will also lead to significant personal growth and learning.
Meetings
The first Meat Goat Cohort 25 meeting will be held in October 2024.

Over the next year, the cohort group will cover a variety of topics to include but not limited to the following:
Biosecurity – Creating Enhanced Biosecurity Protocols
Diseases – Vaccination, Prevention, VCPR
Kidding preparation – Before/During/After Parturition
Nutrition – Requirments, Forage Testing, Decision Tools for Ration Creation & Inventories
Marketing – Building a reputation and brand
Parasite Management – FAMACHA Training
