The 13th annual Driftless Region Beef Conference ↗️ will be held on January 23-24, 2025, at the Grand River Convention Center in Dubuque, Iowa. With the national beef cow herd at record low numbers, the conference will focus on marketing and the future of cow herd expansion.
Keynote speakers include Dr. Derrell Peel from Oklahoma State University, who will discuss the cattle cycle and economic outlook, and Dr. Troy Rowan from the University of Tennessee, who will cover genetics and commercial genomics. Dr. Marta Kohmann from the University of Wisconsin will also speak on pasture and forage planning.
The conference features breakout sessions on various topics for cow herd and feedlot management, and a “Bull Pen” discussion with locker plant managers on local beef marketing. Early registration is $120 until January 10, after which it increases to $145.
