Parasite Patrol: Mastering Fecal Egg Counts for Healthier Herds and Flocks

The University of Wisconsin-Madison Division of Extension is hosting a workshop highlighting intestinal parasite management for Small Ruminant, Dairy, and Beef Producers.

Internal parasites can significantly impact the health and performance of a flock or herd.  Extension colleagues are excited to share this workshop to equip producers with tools and strategies to help curb internal parasites. Topics for this workshop include: 

  • Intestinal parasite lifecycle 
  • Development of resistance 
  • Development of resistance 
  • Experience with hands-on Fecal Egg Count (FEC) using fecal samples from your animals

Registration Details

Registration is limited to 20 people and pre-registration is required.

Registration closes on April 18, 2025.

Cost: $25 per participant
(Fee includes: Snacks + Sheep & goat producers receive free training and materials needed for doing fecal egg testing at home; dairy and beef producers receive free fecal egg testing through a commercial lab)
