Sheep and goat producers interested in expanding or refining their direct‑to‑consumer marketing strategies are invited to join the UW–Madison Division of Extension Small Ruminant Webinar Series on Monday, March 30, 2026, at 7:30 p.m. (CT) for a dynamic panel discussion:

“Rooted to the Land, Reaching Toward the Customer.”

This free online session brings together innovative producers from Iowa and Wisconsin who have successfully built markets for lamb, goat, and beef through online sales, shipping to customers, retail meat markets, and farmers’ markets.

Additional sheep and goat marketers from Wisconsin and Iowa have been invited and may join the panel as confirmations continue.

What Participants Will Learn

Producers will gain practical, firsthand insights on:

  • Choosing and managing retail and direct‑to‑consumer sales channels
  • Strategies for selling meat online and shipping safely and legally
  • Building customer trust and communicating farm values
  • Strengthening brand identity while staying rooted in place
  • Leveraging farmers’ markets, online storefronts, and local retailers
  • Lessons learned from producers who have diversified and scaled their markets

Whether you sell freezer lamb, goat, or beef—or are thinking about starting—this panel offers actionable strategies and advice grounded in real‑world experience.
