Cattle handling facilities and herd health topics will be the focus of an upcoming cow-calf workshop at Knutson Family Farms, Ridgeland, WI. The workshop will include a tour and discussion of the host farm’s cattle handling/ working facilities and additional talks and presentations on preconditioning and upcoming changes to purchasing antibiotics. The workshop begins at 10 am and concludes with lunch at 12.30 pm.
Bill Halfman, Extension Beef Outreach Specialist, and Sandy Stuttgen Extension Agriculture Educator will present information about cow-calf operations. Knutson Family Farms members will lead a tour of their facilities and share their experiences with the efficiencies and drawbacks of the facilities. With over 30 years of genetic improvement, Knutson’s raise registered Angus cattle. Knutson Family Farms’ philosophy is simple, operate with integrity and produce cattle that will be profitable and predictable for our customers.
The Northern Wisconsin Beef Producers are sponsors of this workshop which includes lunch. Free will donations to cover lunch costs are appreciated. Those pre-registered will be called if the program is canceled due to low enrollment or bad weather.
