
UW-Madison Division of Extension Taylor County is hosting a Cow-Calf Workshop on September 23, 2026, in Westboro, WI. The workshop begins at 4 pm as a walking tour of a cattle handling facility located at W5805 Cty D, Westboro, 54490.
Requirements for this tour include wearing clean, washable footwear, and having the ability to walk and stand along with bringing appropriate outdoor clothing.
Supper and classroom sessions will be held at the Westboro Community Center, N8855 2nd St, Westboro from 5:30 – 8:30 pm. Classroom topics and presenters include:
- Biosecurity Update: Sandy Stuttgen, DVM, UW-Madison Extension Taylor County.
- Pasture and Hay Field Management-tips for quality & quantity: Marta Kohmann, Assistant Professor, Forage Systems Agroecology,
UW- Madison. - Culling Decisions & Building Cow Longevity: Ryan Sterry,
UW-Madison Extension Regional Livestock Educator and Bill Halfman, Extension Beef Specialist.
There is no cost to attend, but RSVP REQUIRED for the meal & classroom; call 715-748-1413 by Sept 14, 2026, providing name, phone number and number of meals requested.

This program is held in English and is open to all who are interested in raising or managing beef cattle. Language translation and other accommodations are available by request.
