On September 23 twenty-nine beef cow-calf producers joined UW-Madison Extension educators in Westboro to explore practical strategies for improving profitability and sustainability on their farms. Those in attendance learned about better forage management, biosecurity, and herd replacement management.Â
Participants gained the most knowledge in culling decisions and heifer management—many reported putting ideas from past Extension programs into practice. 80% estimated those changes were worth $1 to $10 per animal, creating real value on their operations.
